In last Sunday’s episode of Nang Magising si Juan, Ariel’s rich aunt Tita Hellen went to a branch of the Land Bank of the Philippines to look at loan options for an agribusiness venture that she wants to consider. Even if Tita Hellen has a millions of pesos saved up from being a caregiver for many years, it does not mean that she will want to put all her money into her business.

On Sunday, June 22 again at 8am, Ariel will be considering the Networking Business with his friends Brod Pete and Long Mejia. But, the three are looking into their options with crooked minds. Of course, there will be hilarious ideas that you will all enjoy listening to. Will you be able to identify what is good and what is bad in the activities that they are thinking of?

A few days ago, the prices of many commodities increased. Very notable is the price hike in jeepneys. Currently, the normal fare stands at P8.50, and around P6.80 for students and senior citizens.

Ang buwan ng Hunyo ay ang Buwan ng Kalayaan. Pero gaano ba talaga natin alam ang ating kasaysayan? Kilala na ba talaga natin ang ating mga bayani, lalo na sa kanilang buhay-pera? Ano ba ang sinasabi ng mga ito tungkol sa ating kasalukuyang kalagayan?

Mula Hunyo 3 hanggang Hunyo 12, nagpalabas kami ng serye ng mga “kuwento” sa kasaysayan na may kinalaman sa pera. Karamihan sa mga ito ay hindi nakikita sa mga libro ng kasaysayan. Narito ang unang bahagi ng mga imaheng lumabas:

Last week, you met Ariel’s rich aunt, Tita Becky. Tita Becky was once a professional care giver in the US. While still working, she regularly saved a fixed amount for herself. Now that she’s retired, she is “back for good” and wants to invest her P18 MILLION RETIREMENT MONEY on something worthwhile! Ariel tries to use her Tita Becky for some extra income for himself.

This week, Ariel will present his “business proposal” idea to his Tita Becky, along with Mr. Colayco and Mr. Bengco. He hopes that his “marvelous and innovative” plan will be acceptable to his Tita Becky and also provide financial assistance to him. Will he succeed?

Also, Ariel will accompany his Tita Becky in availing Landbank’s Bagong Bayani Program. Along the way, Ariel will meet a cooperative who benefited from Landbank’s Business Loan Program. How did this group made use of this loan? What important entrepreneurial principles did they do to make their plans work? And how are they doing now?

Last Sunday, Ariel gave you a deeper glimpse of his life. His job as a script-writer for Feeling Close with FJC is only on a part-time basis. He is happily employed at PLDT, but he is struggling with a huge debt. Not to mention, he keeps on borrowing from PLDT’s coop to continuously fund his extravagant lifestyle. He would borrow his 13^th month pay very early every year. He explains that he would rather be sad for two months (November and December) and be happy for ten months (January to October). Deeply concerned with Ariel’s situation, the boss finally called Francisco J. Colayco and his Colayco Foundation team to take Ariel unto their wings and aid him in his quest towards financial literacy and independence!

This week, Ariel will be introducing his Tita Becky, his aunt who worked as a professional caregiver in the US for many years. Tita Becky is convinced that Ariel is rich and successful because he made her believe he is. Now, Tita Becky is “back for good,” bringing with her a good amount of retirement money. How will Ariel be able to pull it off? Will he succeed in hiding his “real condition from her?” And how will Tita Becky be able to use her retirement money

Noong Linggo, sa ikalawang episode ng Nang Magising si Juan (NMSJ), sinusubukang intindihin ni Ariel, ang bida ng programa, kung ano ba talaga ang kalayaang pinansiyal. Ngunit mali ang kanyang pananaw na ang pinakamainam na paraang para lumaya sa kakapusan ay ang umasa sa ibang tao na susuporta sa kanya. Binubuhay niya ang kanyang sarili sa ganoong paraan; sinasamantala ang kabutihang-loob ng ibang tao para bigyan siya ng pera. Nakipag-date pa nga siya sa isang maganda at edukadong babae nang dala-dala ang ganitong intensiyon. Siyempre, iniwan siya agad ng babae. Hindi mo rin ba gagawin ito kung ikaw ang nasa kanyang kalagayan?

Sa ikatlong episode sa Hunyo 1, makikipag-date si Ariel sa isa pang babae at magkakaroon ng marami pang usapan kasama si Brod Pete na inutangan niya. Nagpupunyagi si Ariel sa pera, at nagiging mas malinaw ito nang dinala ni Ariel ang kanyang “crew” sa PLDT, kung saan talaga siya nagtatrabaho. Ang kanyang trabaho sa katuwaang programang “Feeling Close ni FJC” ay part-time lamang. Nakapanayam ang kanyang tunay na boss at magbibigay siya ng mas marami pang detalye tungkol kay Ariel bilang isang taong may maling kaisipan tungkol sa pera. Matatapos ang episode sa pagdedesisyon ng Colayco Foundation for Education na kunin si Ariel para gabayan at kung paano ninais ng sansinukuban na mangyari iyon.
